Norwalk’s Juice of the Month for April is cantaloupe juice. Over the next four weeks we’ll instruct you on how to choose and clean cantaloupe, as well as juicing, storing, and some helpful tips.

When selecting produce for juicing, it’s always important to choose the freshest produce possible. Ripe cantaloupes have a sweet, pleasant cantaloupe aroma from the ends, and should be soft. Ripe cantaloupes should never be green or hard. If you do purchase a green cantaloupe, let it age at room temperature until it is ripe. The ripening process can take a full week.

Please remember that your juice will only be as nutritional as the produce you use to make it.
