Norwalk’s Juice of the Month for July is carrot, beet, and cucumber juice. Here are some helpful tips for preparation of your ingredients.

Top, tail, and peel carrots before thoroughly washing to remove all bacteria and dirt prior to juicing. If carrots have spots, peel until the spots are gone. Spots that extend into the internal part of the carrot signify damage, and damaged produce should not be juiced, as the juice will not last as long and can be bitter. Peel the outer skin from the beets, and cut them into portions small enough to fit into the housing. Peel cucumbers like carrots to remove any wax on the skins, then top and tail the cucumber. Cucumbers do not need to be cut smaller as long as they can fit into the housing.
