Norwalk’s Juice of the Month for August is watermelon juice. Over the next 4 weeks we’ll instruct you on how to choose and clean watermelon, as well as juicing, storing, and some helpful tips.

When selecting produce for juicing, it’s always important to choose the freshest produce possible. Ripe watermelons should be slightly soft at the ends and should make a low, hollow sound when thumped. Watermelons should never have mold, mildew, or other blemishes on the outer rind. After cutting open your watermelon, the flesh should be bright red in color and firm.

Please remember that your juice will only be as nutritional as the produce you use to make it.
